Troll sits on Pinegrove Mountain, the slope Lars and Astrid Fossberg bought in 1970. Four T-bars serve it — Yellow, Red, Silver and Black — and the newest of them opens an expansion of mostly advanced terrain.

The lifts

Four T-bars, named by colour

Lars Fossberg built the first lift towers himself, milling the trees he felled to do it. Fifty-odd years later the mountain still runs on surface lifts — no chairlift queue, no crowds, just a long quiet ride up through the trees.

Yellow T-bar

The bunny hill

The learning lift, with its own cheaper ticket — $20 for a full day, $10 for a half — so a first-timer never pays for the whole mountain.
Red T-bar

Whole-mountain access

The workhorse. Red opens the mountain, including the six-kilometre run from the top all the way back to the chalet.
Silver T-bar

Weekends and holidays

Turning on the days the hill is busiest. Worth checking before you plan a midweek day around it.
Black T-bar

New for 2025/2026

The newest T-bar, opening the Pinegrove Mountain expansion — additional terrain consisting mostly of advanced black diamond runs.

A bunny hill, a six-kilometre run, and a new set of black diamonds

Troll does not publish a run count, so this concept does not print one. What the resort does publish is the shape of the mountain — and that is enough to plan a day around.

  • Learning terrain

    The Yellow T-bar serves the bunny hill and carries its own lift-only ticket, so a first day costs $20 rather than $80.

  • The long way down

    The longest run on the mountain measures six kilometres — the kind of top-to-bottom cruise that lets a family ski together without anyone getting scared or bored.

  • The Pinegrove expansion

    The Black T-bar, new for the 2025/2026 season, opens additional terrain consisting mostly of advanced black diamond runs — the biggest change to the mountain in years.

Terrain park

There is a park, and it is part of the hill

Troll runs a terrain park alongside the rest of the mountain. The resort does not publish a feature list, so this page does not invent one — a live build would put the current line-up here and let the park crew update it as features go in and come out through the winter.

Snowboarders, telemark skiers and alpine skiers all ride the same T-bars here. Telefest is one of the resort's own annual events.
